About Relative State
Relative State is devoted to exploring the topic of plural psychology.
Ever since man first called himself ‘I’, there have been others: presences unseen but known, or mottled periods of difference in one’s past actions. Humankind is ridden by the spirits; speaks to the dead, the daimons, and the gods; and co-exists with other egos. Some people reject these experiences, some people take great comfort from them, and for others it’s just something that happens to them.
Topics include:
- The phenomenology of plural experience—what it is like for different people.
- The beliefs surrounding plural experience—what different people think it is.
- The emotional stances taken towards plural experience—what it means to different people.
- The intellectual ramifications of plural experience—how it relates to various systems of ideas.
- Anything else deemed relevant.
